Periscope One builds operational software for utilities, utility contractors, and the industrial trades. AICON 360 is our first product.
Our background
Our team has spent careers in some of the most demanding operational environments there are — from military service to utility construction sites. Over a third of the team served in the armed forces, where the lesson was simple and permanent: procedures matter, briefings matter, and your people are everything.
For more than a decade, we have worked inside utilities and utility contractors as consultants — helping organizations find coaching gaps, behavior patterns, and latent weaknesses before they became incidents. We saw what happens when a company genuinely invests in its people. We also saw what happens when it doesn't.
And from the inside, we kept running into the same problem.
What we kept finding
The briefing wasn't working.
The job safety analysis. The tailboard. The tailgate talk. The morning safety brief. Whatever an organization calls it, in a lot of cases it wasn't working — and in some cases it wasn't really happening.
Crews were walking onto job sites without a real conversation. Hazards weren't being identified. Roles weren't clear. Emergency protocols went undiscussed. And leadership had no visibility into any of it, because everything upstream ran on lagging indicators — incident reports, near-misses, post-mortems. By the time that data reached a decision-maker, it was too late to prevent what had already happened.
Consulting could surface the gap. It couldn't close it at scale, every morning, on every crew. That needed software.
What we built

AICON 360 is built around that one idea: begin with the conversation before the job begins. It is not a form builder, and it is not another checkbox platform filled out to satisfy compliance and filed where nobody will look at it again.
It leads the briefing. It prompts crews through hazards, procedures, equipment and client-specific requirements, brings the team together to identify risk collectively, and makes that conversation visible to everyone who needs to see it — from the apprentice on day one to the executive making capital decisions. Nobody waits weeks for a filtered summary.
Why we do this
We didn't build this to sell software. We built it because we've been on those crews, and we know what's missing.
The trades are some of the most important and most dangerous jobs there are. The people doing this work keep the lights on, the water running and the infrastructure standing. They deserve better than outdated processes, invisible hazards, and leadership flying blind.
The workers on the ground aren't just executing tasks. They're making split-second decisions, identifying risk, adapting to conditions and leading crews through complex, high-consequence work. We build for that reality.
